Kelly is a Make-It-Happen-Make-It-Cool Artist

Art can and should happen anywhere! As well as the traditional stage, I’ve produced serial events in bars, furniture stores, churches (and more bars) to create unique experiences for artists, audiences, and local businesses. Here are some endeavors!

Also Known As Theatre Company
Co-Founder | Producer

Also Known As Theatre produces plays that ask, “Who were you before society told you who you were supposed to be?” We present stories that explore the performative nature of person-to-person interactions, and characters who exemplify the tension between social expectations and the essential self: Sometimes courageous, sometimes cowardly, always deeply human. Life--also known as theatre.

Also Known As Theatre is committed to partnering with like-minded businesses and organizations to deepen the conversations and discoveries sparked by our work. These have included Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, Cambridge Women’s Commission, and The Funeral Consumers Alliance.

In its inaugural 2018-2019 season, Also Known As Theatre ushered in the world premiere of A Good Death by Shelley Hobbes and produced In the Forest, She Grew Fangs by Steven Spotswood and Extremities by William Mastrosimone. We created paid opportunities for 50 unique theatre artists and worked towards achieving gender parity in theatre by having 82% of production staff female-identifying, well above the current theatrical landscape for women.

Grown Up Story Time Boston
Aeronaut Brewery, Somerville, MA | Monthly 2015-2018
Producer / Writer

Boston's Grown-Up StoryTime (GUST) presented an hour of funny, heartwarming, crazy, amazing stories read aloud each month at Aeronaut Brewery. We took stories from the community, distributed them to readers from the community and made the magic happen.

During my stint as producer, I facilitated the performance of over 200 stories by over 200 unique writers and performers. GUST was a featured performer at A.R.T/Oberon, Somerville Cable Access Television, Remnant Brewing, Cambridge Public Library, and Room & Board for the Boston Book Festival.

GUST also built a community of support for emerging writers through open write sessions.
