A note on sustainability: While theatre’s power and draw is its ephemeral and fleeting nature, unfortunately the waste we create in the process sticks around. Due to our climate crisis, I primarily practice principles of upcycling, refabrication, borrowing, and purchasing/acquiring second-hand. Sustainability also extends to how we sustain our communities. I’m conscious of how I invest a company’s money, prioritizing local businesses and those owned by historically marginalized people. Our act of creation must not be reckless and blind to the multiple crises this planet faces.
