This commissioned devised piece weaves together the parallel storylines of the 1917 explosion in Halifax Harbor (and the corresponding American relief efforts) and refugee stories from Operation Yellow Ribbon (the Canadian response to the terrorist attacks on 9/11). While these two moments in history are associated with great tragedy, Raining Aluminum explores tremendous instances of gratitude and the resilience and fragility of human spirit. We were thrilled to be collaborate with some fabulous artists on this project including the Czechoslovak American Marionette Theatre and world renown PEI fiddler, Cynthia MacLeod
